Important information about the new-look Local Safeguarding Children Board Northamptonshire website News

Published on Monday 5th July by Tiffany Irons

A new website that will provide a one-stop-shop for all professionals involved in safeguarding child .....

Article A new website that will provide a one-stop-shop for all professionals involved in safeguarding children – no matter what agency they work for - is set to launch later this month.
In a bid to provide a more efficient system for all professionals, whether you are a social worker, teacher, police officer, doctor or nurse, the new site will be on hand with all of the information you need.

The new-look Local Safeguarding Children Board Northamptonshire website has a section specifically for professionals who want to find any policies or procedures they may require as part of their day-to-day work.

Not only are they all in one place, they are also viewable using mobile phones that have web access, including BlackBerrys.
The procedures manual is just one section on www.LSCBNorthamptonshire.org.uk which also has information suitable for parents and children.

There is a huge amount of information on the website that is not only appropriate for people who may have concerns about the welfare of a child, but also for people who may want to find out more about the work of the LSCB.

The website goes live on Friday 18 June.

Chris Few, Independent Chair of the LSCB said: “We all have a responsibility to safeguard the children of Northamptonshire and it is essential that everyone is aware of the most up-to-date policies on child welfare.

“The website is a key resource, containing policies and procedures from all partner organisations – a „one-stop-shop‟ for information.

“As such the new website is an essential tool for everyone working with children in Northamptonshire, whether on a professional or voluntary basis and something that should be accessed regularly.

“I would urge people to add the site to their favourites section online, so it is easy to find whenever you need it.”
Anyone with a safeguarding responsibility is asked to spend time looking at the website and become familiar with it, particularly the procedures manual.

The Integrated Working Guidance is a handbook for all those working with children and young people across Northamptonshire News

Published on Monday 12th July by Tiffany Irons

“The Integrated Working Guidance is a handbook for all those working with children and young people .....

Article “The Integrated Working Guidance is a handbook for all those working with children and young people across Northamptonshire. It is the reference document that practitioners from all backgrounds will use when working together. It has been approved by the Children and Young People’s partnership Board and the Local Safeguarding Board for Children.

It includes sections on; information sharing, how the Common Assessment Framework relates to other assessments and the Northamptonshire “Vulnerability Matrix”. The Matrix contains descriptors of a child/young person’s needs across four levels and all aspects of their lives. Alongside this are described the associated support available from a full range of teams and organisations across Northamptonshire, at each level. The Matrix also includes descriptors of the levels of need at which Children and Young People’s Service social work teams will support a child or young person.

We are currently undertaking an evaluation of the Guidance. Part of this evaluation is a short survey which is available at:
